    About Me

    LandxSea Film Festival

Scotland’s environmental film festival — bold films, big ideas and a bracing dose of the North Sea.

LandxSea is where films ignite action. 🌊

Based in the northeast coastal town of Montrose, we bring together bold environmental films, inspiring guests and audiences ready to get involved.

Each September, LandxSea takes over the community-owned Montrose Playhouse for a long weekend of cinema, conversation and unexpected adventures — from filmmaker Q&As and lively discussions to creative workshops, community events and our annual dip in the North Sea.

Our carefully curated programme explores climate, nature and our changing world through documentaries, fiction, animation, artist film and archive cinema. We’re especially interested in Indigenous perspectives, land and water rights, environmental justice, and stories from communities on the frontline of change.

We love films that are moving, surprising, funny, challenging or a little bit wild — and conversations that continue long after the credits roll.
